Dishwasher not completing cycle

Hi and Welcome to Just Answer,

Ok, let's take a look at this;

If it isn't finishing or completing the cycles this could be the timer is going out. If you can give me the model number I will look to see if I can get you a part number

If you dishes are finishing, but are coming out dirty, you may want to check the screens to make sure that they are clean, and that all of the water is being pumped out after each cycle

The dishwasher panel indicates that the cycle has been completed. When you open the machine the soap dispenser is open and the soap is basically still all there. The dishes are, of course, still dirty. Does that sounds like a timer? THe model number is XXXXX where?

That sounds more like the inlet valve if your soap is still in the soap dispenser, then the inlet valve may be failing

also it could be cycle extender or selector switch,

to find your model look here

Also, when you open the door is the water gone completely?
