The medal design is credited to Archibald Robinson of New York and the die engraving was done by Robert Scot. According to RW Julian in “Medals of the United States Mint the First Century” John Reich was uncredited for helping with the design. This was the first medal after the Revolutionary war and it was the 2nd Naval Medal Award by Congress.
