Hi,

I received your images and my apologies for the delay.

On today's market a mixed media collage work by Valentin Popov (b.1956) would carry an auction estimate of $3000 - $5000. However his highest actual auction sale on record has been $1220 against those estimates.

What is the size of the Truxton medal?

If you look along the rim of the medal, sometimes there are signatures or marks. Do you see any when you check?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
No markings on rim

Thank you for checking, and what is the exact wording on the side of the medal with the ships?

Hi,

Thank you for your patience.

The medal design is credited to Archibald Robinson of New York and the die engraving was done by Robert Scot. According to RW Julian in “Medals of the United States Mint the First Century” John Reich was uncredited for helping with the design. This was the first medal after the Revolutionary war and it was the 2nd Naval Medal Award by Congress.
