I have a celluloid doll that has been in the family since

Customer Question

I have a celluloid doll that has been in the family since (at least) 1940.
It is a complete black doll with movable arms and legs.
Interestingly, even though it is black, facial features and hair are Caucasian's.
The doll has a coral neckless and a loincloth made of felt strips of different colors.
Markings, on the back, just below the neck are:
MINERVA
(picture of a helmet)
15
GERMANY
O
15 1/2
I would like to know it's date of manufacture and approximate value.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
My name isCustomerand I would love to help.
Please use the Add Files feature on your screen to add pictures of the doll and the marks that you have described.
Also look on the back of her neck or shoulder for any more marks.
