Customer Question

I have a doll that's marked Simon Halbig #117, with the German star on the back of the doll's neck with the K and the R. I need to know if this is an original doll, or if this doll could be reproduced, but still have these markings.

This is actually a Kammer and Reinhardt German doll in mold number 117.

These dolls had heads made by Simon and Halbig, so both marks were common on the back.

This mold 117 is the Mein Liebling Doll first introduced in 1901 with closed mouth (there was also an open mouth doll, mold 117A).

Mein Liebling means My Darling. This doll is authentic and has a current value of $3000 to $3600 retail.
