My father had a Royal Dux figurine damaged. Broken into

Customer Question

My father had a Royal Dux figurine damaged. Broken into pieces. The insurance company offered him only $265.00 In my research I found a book that had the identical figurine listed at $695. and the date of publication of that valuation guide was 1995. It was 16" tall Mother and Child and had the early pink triangle on it. I think the insurance company is trying to screw him over. I need help
JA: I always love having an appraiser look at my stuff. Sometimes its turned out to be surprisingly valuable. Is there anything else the Antiques Appraiser should be aware of?

Right now it's in pieces.. but if that isn't it its' very similar. On the bottom where the little pink triangle is there is no signature.
Expert:  Doris - dfm925 replied 3 months ago.

Please send photos of the marks ....triangle, etc.

You may need to use the macro function (flower icon) of your camera to get a good clear photo of the marks.

If you cannot get a good photo, then sketch the marks and take a photo of the sketch.

To send photos you may use the "reply to expert" in the blue box link on your reply page or the "paper clip" found in the toolbar you see on your reply page.
Please do not send in ZIP format. The jpg or jpeg format works best.

An explanation of this method can be found here:

Are there letters on the front of the base rim.

Kind regards,

I sure will - may be tomorrow but thank you
Expert:  Doris - dfm925 replied 3 months ago.

I am sending photos of the marks on the bottom.

I am also sending the words on the front base.

Check your pieces to see if they are the same.

If they are not the same, please tell me what is similar

Kind regards,
