I acquired. An antique Queen Anne wood chair. The chair is hand made. It has a fiddle back. Curved legs with small animal feet. It ha part of an old label on the bottom of the seat that partially reads Philadelphia.
The fiddleback has flower motif inlay. It has a shellac finish.

You can certainly log in via computer.

This label is from The Sikes Company, of Philadelphia, PA. This is a dining chair, originally from a set of 4, 6, or 8.

The Sikes Chair Company was created in 1859. This particular label would date the chair to the first quarter of the 20th century.

This particular chair would be expected to resell in the range of $100-$125.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

I just went looked at the skies catolog
I think you are wrong
The name on label begins with I n and ends in Es with 8 letters
Expert:  AppraiserJM replied 8 months ago.

I'm sorry if you are disappointed in the value, but this is most definitely the Sikes label. I'll post some examples.

Expert:  AppraiserJM replied 8 months ago.

Here is another.

Expert:  AppraiserJM replied 8 months ago.

There were many, many variations on the Sikes labels, some small variations, some completely different. But this is most definitely one of their labels.

Pluses Sikes was in Philadelphia from 1904 to 1916
And the did not make that style of chair
Plus this chair is not machine made
Expert:  AppraiserJM replied 8 months ago.

Yes, but this is a label from 1904 to 1906. Then it changed slightly.

This is most definitely a Sikes chair. I've been appraising them for 23 years. I'm sorry you don't feel comfortable with that. I'll open to other appraisers so they can offer a second opinion.
