Customer Question

My wife's grandmother past away and left a large quantity of amazing oil paintings of what I believe to be old masters. Some are as tall as 5 feet. Many were done by Parrilo who I believe was a copiest at the Prado. Do these copies have a high value and where do we go to have them sold? The art is in Boca, FL. Attached is one if I could get an idea of its value.

Hi, my name is*****'m a certified appraiser and I'd be happy to help.

I will need to see a photo of the back of the canvas, a close-up of the signature, and a close-up of the surface on an angle so I can see the brushstrokes.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

Thank you.

This would have been done in the 1920s. I'll look into value for you.

These paintings do not carry significant value as copies. What's more interesting are the frames--many of these are hand carved and silvered or gilded.

The typical resale range on these would be $500-$1500 each, with the example pictured perhaps going to $2000 or even higher.

Sincerely,

Jennifer
