Hi, my name is*****'m a certified appraiser, and I'd be happy to help.
Can you please give me the publisher, city of publication, and date of publication, from the title page?
My apologies, I was out inspecting books all day yesterday!
Is this "The Princess: A Medley," or "The Princess Maud and Other Poems?"
Unfortunately, the value of this book would only be around $10.00.
By the 19th century, books were being published in fairly large quantities, and were often preserved by their owners. For this reason, for the most part resale values are on the low end, with a few valuable exceptions.
If you have a first edition of a very popular book, it would be more valuable.
I really can't be more specific than that, there were tens of thousands of books published in the 19th century, and few are worth more than $50-$100, if that. But the occasional first edition can be valuable.
I can look up one more for you if you like.
My apology for the ridiculous delay! My youngest came down with the flu and I couldn't get near my computer (and this won't work on my phone).
The first edition of this book, in very good condition, is valued at $25.
