Customer Question

I have an Ivory Crucifix of Christ.
Believed to be Spanish, Portuguese or Italian.
The dimensions are 5 1/2 inches long, 4 inches wide arms spread, and
the body is 1 inch to 1 1/4 inch.
Most importantly the legs are NOT CROSSED.
This Ivory is very detailed and each toe joint can be seen.
It is believed to be 16th - 17th Century.
Your professional opinion matters. I am looking for some kind of
value to an appraisal.
Respectfully,
Robert

Hello,

Thank you for the images; your question was opened today.

This is 17th century Spanish. It is Mannerist in style, which was prevalent from 1500 - 1580, however all Spanish works tend to be about 100 years behind in design era at that time in history - thus dating yours to the 1600's. On today's market, this has a value of $5000 - $7000.
