Hello and welcome! My name is Doris.
I have been an antiques collector, dealer and appraiser for over 56 years.

Has the envelope been used? In other words, has the stamp been canceled?

I just picked it up. Thank you.

After seeing your photo and reviewing my notes, I was able to determine a retail vintage store value of $14-18 for your 1949/50 tete beche stamped envelope.

A private seller to a dealer or at auction can expect 30-60% of retail value.

I hope I have helped you.

Thank you Doris for your estimate the last one of these sold for 30,000 at Spinks I have learnt through this and won't forget by the way the unused pair fetched 94,000 US dollars thank you
Expert:  Doris - dfm925 replied 1 year ago.

Those are extraordinary prices indeed.

See the following example from a high-end dealer for sale for less than $4000.

I guess the prices have a wide range.

Kind regards,

Doris
