Customer Question

I have a small old Capodimonte figurine of a woman with a lyre. Looks like a Gricci and has blue crown and N marks but also a red hand painted "Made in Italy" Mark. I'd like one of your experts to authenticate, date and value it.

Hi,

Your porcelain figurine, though based on the 18th century style of Giuseppe Gricci, was made in the early 20th century, circa 1900. The value on today's market is $200 - $300. "Made in Italy" would not be on an 18th century piece, country of origin marks essentially began in 1892. In addition the crown over N mark is actually stamped underglaze and not hand executed.
