Hi,

Thank you for the request here. I am not able to decipher the signature on this painting, do you know who the author of the painting is? It is fairly contemporary, from the stretching of the canvas on the backside it dates to around 1970's - 1980's. I can refer you to some Western Art auctions who do handle paintings depicting American Indians.

Here is the list for you, it is free to contact auction houses through their websites:

I think the author is Braun . I had thought it might be Brown as in Harley Brown because the BR is very similar to his signature but everything I've seen by him was signed by with his first name, Harley, as well
Expert:  Nora replied 1 year ago.

Hi,

It definitely is not a work by Harley Brown. I do agree that the signature appears as Braun possibly. There are about 100 listed artists with that last name - I will check to see if there is a match to one. This will take some time.

Hi,

Thank you for your patience.

Hello,

I have not yielded a stylistic, signature and time-frame match to a listed artist with the name Braun.

This would then fall under the category of unlisted artists, meaning one that does not have a history of sales at a significant auction house.

A painting of this size and subject matter can sell at auction for a high of up to $400 - $600.

I still recommend contacting the auction houses I cited earlier for more opinions.

The author is Jorge Tarallo Braun... I've seen works of his valued up to $12000.00... This may be a rare one.
Expert:  Nora replied 1 year ago.

Hi,

Thanks for letting me know. In the art databases he is listed as Jorge Tarallo, hence why I did not find him:

You should contact Robert Rogal at RoGallery. I have worked with him before, and he is good to deal with. You can tell him Nora from Fine Art Connoisseur magazine referred you. He is offering Portraits of Native American Indians by Tarallo on his site:
