Have Antique Repair Questions? Ask an Antique Appraiser
Hi! My name is ***** ***** I would be happy to help with your soup ladle.
Could you attach a photo of it and one of the marks and I'll identify it for you and give you a value.
Many thanks and wait to hear,Robert
Thank you for getting back to me with that further detail.
Based on your description of the soup ladle this sounds to be the mark of English silversmith Southern and Richardson who produced electroplated(EP) cutlery and flatware in Sheffield in the late 19th century (circa 1870-1900).
In the current market the antique silverplated soup ladle would have a resale value of 20-30USD in excellent condition.
Any dents, dings or missing silverplate would detract from the resale value.
I hope this information was helpful to you today.
Best of luck with your antique soup ladle .
Any feedback you can leave for my service would be much appreciated.
