Customer Question

i have what appears to be an antique wooden rocking chair, very short and squatty in design, that has a relief carving of a "colonial" woman in a fabric hat, similar to Betsy Ross images I've seen, and she is knitting. would you happen to know a ballpark value of a chair like this?

Hi,

This is a circa 1890 - 1910 quarter-sawn oak rocker with a relief carved back from Germany. On today's market, these sell for an average of $300 - $400 each at auction. The suggested insurance or replacement value is $700.
