Customer Question

We just purchased a hand-painted plate that we believe is a real antique Japanese plate, but we cannot identify it. We would like to forward pictures and get an expert appraisal.

The pictures did come through, there are three here and it is enough to assess this piece.

The mark on the bottom is the mark of Fukagawa Pottery of Arita, Japan. They had many marks over the years and this one help date the piece to 1875- 1890. The word Fukagawa means fragrant orchid and that is what the logo represents as well. This piece has both under glaze and over glaze enamel paints. The plate has a value of $125.00 us dollars.
