Hi,
My name is ***** ***** I am here to help with your question.
On today's market, the suggested insurance or replacement value for your early 20th century compendium entitled "The works of William Shakespeare with biography, glossary, and index of characters" that was published by Ward, Lock & Co. Limited is $70. If you were to sell this on your own expect to garner a high of $20 - $25.

Hi,
I will look into that for you.

Hi There~
Thank you for your patience.
The ‘Ward Lock & Co Ltd’ name was first used in 1897. They opened the Toronto office in the mid-1890s and it was then closed in 1919.
Thus, your book would have been published sometime between 1897 - 1919.
The type of font used and style of the cover, dates this to post 1915.
Furthermore, I found a match to your book that has an inscription from the giver to the receiver dated 1919.
It is most likely that your book was published after WWI and dates to sometime between 1918 -1919.
Since there are no other dates published or statements of being a later edition, your compendium is a first edition and only edition of this title by these publishers.
