I found an old, rusted gas heater, circa 1900s in our attic.

Customer Question

I found an old, rusted gas heater, circa 1900s in our attic. Inside the portable register there is a gas burner where the fire would burn. On the back is a fitting for a gas hose complete with a spigget or valve to turn the gas on or off. Our house was originally fitted with gas lines for gas lighting. Is this heater of any antique value?

Hi, my name is***** a certified appraiser, and I'd be happy to help.
These heaters are of very limited value, particularly considering it is rusted. Perhaps $100.00 on the outside, if it's cleaned up a bit.
Please let me know if I can help further.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
