Customer Question

I have a China Mustache Tea Cup marked on bottom of cup with; "Spetre", KPM, Germany. This figure, and lettering appear to be green, opposed to Cobalt Blue. In addition, there is hand written numbers of: 386/7041/2. These numbers appear to be purple in color, and appear to have been included in the original glazing process. Can you tell me if this piece may be an Original KPM product, and it's approximate age. Thank you in advance. BHM

Could you post an image of the item and marking, please?

No. Thank you for your time

My apology, but please understand I need to see the marking to form an opinion as to authenticity--many copies exist. I can tell you that the word "Germany" would likely NOT have been on KPM wares until the 1890s, so if the logo matches a form earlier than that, it is likely not what it appears to be.
