Customer Question

I have 2 paintings by George Sheppard. One has Lyme Regis, Hampshire written on the back. I've Googled George Sheppard and can find he actually lived in that area (born 1806), but nowhere does it say that he was a painter. Can you give me any information and if the paintings could be worth anything at all? Thank you. Dominique Mylne

Hello and welcome! My name is Doris.
I have been an antiques collector, dealer and appraiser for over 56 years.
I will be pleased to help you.
To give the best assessment I am going to need photos.
I need a photo of the artist's signature and a photo of your other painting.
These are two ways to send me photos:
You can use a free internet photo website named www.imgur.com
OR
You can use the paper clip icon at the top of your "reply" box to
insert your photos directly into your "reply" box.
An explanation of this method can be found here -

Sometimes there is no paper clip but there is an attachment link in your "reply"
box. You may use this to send photos as well.
I look forward to seeing your photos.
I also need the dimensions of your paintings not including the frame.
Kind regards,
Doris
