the painting is a print and it is 36in. in width and 23in. in length give or take.
Is this well framed? Gilt frame by chance? Is the print support canvas? board? It sounds painting size so this sounds like a fine reproduction. No image, correct? Dori

Thank you for your patience and effort to share images. I finally got the images..and although they came in very small (almost postage stamp size) I recognize the painting instantly.
This is an old reproduction, as you well know, in a vintage original frame which appears to be a nice mahogany. This work is by Frederic Remington and was painted in 1905 and titled "The Smoke Signal." Remington's work was very popular in the second quarter of the 20th century and fine art galleries did sell large size reproductions that were very nicely made. This size and the framing would tell us that this is one of these old pieces.
There maybe some minor condition issues (it is hard to tell in this size an image) at the top and bottom of the print from the back stripping (acid migration or stress that makes the indention of the backing come forth?) However in good condition this would have a market value in the range of 250.00-300.00 (USD). I hope this helps. You dont mention any obvious condition issues..so this may not impact this at all on site..just a note that I detected..but you would know best.
:) Dori
