I just got a beautiful old chest of drawers from my mother-in-law. It has a label on the back that says "S. G. Lindeman and Sons, Inc. Makers of the Melidogrand piano, 4 West 140 Street, New York City." I've tried to find info online, but the only information has to do with their piano business. I haven't found a single mention of them making furniture. I'd love to find out more about it.
Is there any way to add another picture? I have a shot of the label that says, "S. G. Lindeman and Sons, Inc. Makers of the Melidogrand piano, 4 West 140 Street, New York City."

Hi my name is Glenda,Thank you for choosing us for your Appraisal needs.
There is no recorded information on the company producing furniture in any data bases, or furniture reference books. You can possibly find this information in your local library, you can look the furniture companies up from New York. This is even unlikely, so many companies did not keep records, and if they just ventured into the furniture business as an experiment so to speak and it did not go over like the piano business then there would be no records of it. The only time records are usually kept is when the companies became large and made a lot of money which drew attention to them.
Even though there is no information on the company, I can still value this chest if you like, I can make comparisons from the same time period, style and condition etc. If you would like me to do that just let me know, or I can opt out of this and possibly someone else may have information that I is from somwhere I have no idea about.
