I have a Brent Hayes limited # XXXXX titled "And The Winner Is" of Tom Kite winning the 1992 US Open at Pebble Beach. In 1993 I took it to "The Tour Championship" at The Olympic Club and got Tom to autograph it. It has been mounted in a very nice double-matted frame. Could you tell me what it is worth? I've seen the unframed, unautographed serigraph on sale for around $80. Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan,My name is XXXXX XXXXX it will be my pleasure to help you with this question.Your print is very much enhanced by the Kite autograph. As you said, its value without the signature is approximately $100. With the autograph, if the print is in excellent condition, its current retail (replacement or insurance) value is approximately $500. If you were to sell it, you could expect to get the fair market (private sale or auction) value of approximately 40% of the retail amount.I hope this answer has been helpful for you. Your value is about what I expected, but I was a little surprised that I should only expect 40% of that if I sold it. It is in "like new" condition and I would hope to get more than 40%. What is the best way to sell to get the best price? Thanks again, Dan
Hi Dan,The retail value is what you'd have to pay to buy the print, and it's the amount for which you'd insure it. This is because retailers have to pay rent and insurance and their employees' salaries, so they build a profit into their pricing. The fair market value is what you'd get if you, as a private person, sold the print to another private person. But, if you were going to buy one of these in a store, you'd have to pay the retail amount. The best way to sell it is locally. You can advertise on craigslist.com (free) or in your local newspaper. You can even post a notice on the bulletin board of your local supermarket. If those don't work for you, you can put the print into a sports memorabilia auction.Judith-on-Antiques41043.811265625
