Hi there and welcome

If you click on my link below

http://photos.google.com

And sign in with the same account you used on your phone, do you see your photos there?

Please let me know

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
no, they aren't there.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
do you have any further advice?
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

Thanks

I would like you please to download this tool on your computer

http://www.easeus.com/android-data-recovery-software/free-android-data-recovery.html

Then follow the onscreen instructions to run a scan on your phone and tell me if it is able to recover the photos via this software

Let me know the results please

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
ran into a problem, downloaded the program, the first step was to download kingo root. The link to kingo root has been removed from download.com, and I can't find a download link anywhere. It was the root step that was the stopping point on Dr Fone...
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I am being sent to a site asking me to download SEO powersuite when I click on the only download button
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

download it from here please

https://www.kingoapp.com/

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
server error 500
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

ok strange as it is working for me, but you can download it here (I uploaded it for you)

http://www.wikisend.com/download/699908/KingoRoot.apk

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
kingoroot.zip is unsafe to download and was blocked by smartscreen filter.
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

ok, it is safe, you need to disable any filters you have please.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
just shows me the unzipped files, nothing to install. :(
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

You now need to copy the file to your phone and run it please as this will root the phone so the scan can occur.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I don't know what you mean by copy the file to your phone. How do I do that?
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

Your phone is connected to your computer, so you can go to your file manager (windows key + E on the keyboard)

Then you see your phone listed in the drives

Click it and you can copy the file to it there.

Then disconnect the phone, open the My Files app on the phone and locate the file and tap on it to run it please

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
not showing.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
windows 10....btw
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

what is not showing sorry?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
my phone is plugged in to the computer, yet it isn't showing in windows+e nor in my computers and devices as an external device.
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I mean devices and printers under control panel.
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

When you click on This PC, what do you see listed as Drives and devices on the right?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
only local disk c
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

ok, connect the phone to a different USB port.

Does it then show?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
no. this is weird, it was showing earlier, now it won't at all. usually a little box shows in the lower right of my screen asking what I want to do with the device
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

ok, try to restart the computer and try again

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
the file is there now. There are several items in the kingo zip.....which do I drag over? which do I open? there are 4 file folders, and 4 files
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

It is not a zip, it is one file.

http://www.wikisend.com/download/699908/KingoRoot.apk

Copy that file to it

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
kingo root zip 2.29MB
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

not sure which file you are referring to, the one I am giving you is not a ZIP file

I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
resources.arsc, classes.dex, build-data.properties, androidmanifest.xml
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
it is a zip, try it yourself.... :)
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
continue like this
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

I have, it is an apk file that is downloaded.

Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

just copy the downloded file to the phone

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I just wrote you the 4 files in the zip, I can't cut and paste them. There, I just pushed "save as". and was able to cut and paste the name of the file
KingoRoot.zip
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

I have decided to opt out of working with you further on this as without a remote connection I see no way to proceed.

The file I am providing is an APK (you can see it in the name of the file), so I am not sure what you are downloading.

You do not need to do anything, you will be contacted when another expert takes over your case.

Thank you and all the best.

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I just went to the website from my phone, and downloaded the app. it says rooting now, please be patient, then says root failed, error code 0x19A753
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
My version is 6.1, and it does not work at anything above 5.1
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

ok, can you try to Root it then with the service on my link below

https://www.oneclickroot.com/

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
successfully downloaded oneclickroot, clicked root, it said scan first to see if device can be rooted, then said sorry! device can't be rooted. did some searching, supposedly the only program that will root Samsung s5 900V for AT&T and Verizon is an app called towelroot... it wouldn't work either.
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

Oneclickroot also does this, it does for all phones and versions.

You did the instructions like here?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLeLT8esVF0

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
yep, only they don't tell you about a step where it asks you "use the root device tool to check if your device can be safely rooted. Please check "scan now" to check your device rootability."
I did. it said...
Sorry! Device can't be rooted. notify me when device becomes rootable.
Expert:  Richard replied 12 days ago.

ok, then you wont be able to root this phone or run the recovery sorry.
