attempting to access mail under an account I had created a while back - 2014
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: it was through my Sony - Android phone at the time, now I have a samsung Android and want to keep the original email [email protected]
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I attempted www.kindle.com it always brings me back to AMAZON
JA: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: my rescue email is *******.rr.com

Hi ,

My name is***** am sorry to hear that you are having this issue.

I will be glad to assist you with this.

The email will have to be entered and set up as the @rr.com address and password. The kindle.com address willl automatically connect and sync with the rr.com address.

Tap THE MENU KEY.
Tap Settings.
Tap Add account.
Key in your email address.

3. Enter password

Tap Password ***** key in the password ***** your email account.

Tap Next.

If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, go to step 14.

4. Select server type

Tap POP3 account.

5. Enter username

Tap the field below "Username" and key in the username for your email account.

6. Enter incoming server

Tap the field below "POP3 server" and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's incoming server.

If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.

7. Turn off encryption of incoming email

Tap the drop down list below "Security type".

Tap None.

8. Enter incoming port

Tap the field below "Port" and key in 110

9. Turn deletion of email on server on or off

Tap the drop down list below "Delete email from server".

Tap Never or When I delete from Inbox.

Tap Next.

10. Enter outgoing server

Tap the field below "SMTP server" and key in smtp.optusnet.com.au

11. Turn off encryption of outgoing email

Tap the drop down list below "Security type".

Tap None.

12. Enter outgoing port

Tap the field below "Port" and key in 25

13. Turn off SMTP authentication

Tap Require sign-in until the function is turned off.

Tap Next.

14. Select settings for retrieval of new email

Tap the drop down list below "Sync schedule".

Tap Never or the required period.

Tap the drop down list below "Peak schedule".

Tap Never or the required period.

15. Turn synchronisation of email on or off

Tap Sync Email to turn the function on or off.

16. Turn email notification on or off

Tap Notify me when email arrives to turn the function on or off.

Tap Next.

17. Enter account name

Key in the required name.

18. Enter sender name

Tap the field below "Your name (Displayed on outgoing messages)" and key in the required sender name.

19. Finish setup

Tap Done.

Wait while your mobile phone retrieves new email.

20. Return to the home screen

Tap the Home key to return to the home screen.
