This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Kindle and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Kindle and use it.
Let me know the results please
ok, then you have forgotten the pin so we need to reset it.
Enter it in incorrect 10 times until it asks if you want to do a factory reset
Choose yes to reset it, it will reinstall it and return it as new so you can set it up again.
You can then set a new pin if you wish

it depends on what it was set as, keep entering it in wrong and it should then offer you to reset
