This sounds like a glitch in the firmware. The best option will be to try a factory restore. Do you have the content that you would like to save backed up on the tablet?

Try this on your Samsung Tablet please>

You can save the photos to your sd card, if they are already on the card they will be safe.

  1. Back up the data on the internal memory to your sd card or google account.
  2. From any Home screen, tap Apps .
  3. Tap Settings .
  4. Tap Backup and reset .
  5. Tap to clear the Automatic restore check box, if necessary.
Note : You must disable ‘Automatic restore’ before you disable ‘Back up my data.’
  6. Tap to clear the Back up my data check box, if necessary.
  7. Tap OK , if necessary.
  8. Tap Factory data reset .
  9. Tap Reset device .
  10. Tap Erase everything .
