Customer Question

I have a new Samsung Galaxy j3 phone and am trying to "set it up" to use. I put in a password ***** unlock the screen and it doesn't recognize it and I cannot open it. How can I "ERASE" the password ***** open it?; I just want to start over with setting it up without the screen lock code needed? I am totally frustrated. 'Thanks......

Hi there,

My name is***** will try my best to help you with your question.

To erase the password ***** require resetting the phone to its factory condition, and anything stored on it will also be erased:

1. First, switch off the cell phone by pressing the Power button.
2. Next, press and hold together: Volume Up + Home + Power key until you see Samsung logo.

3. Then select from Recovery Mode menu "wipe data / factory reset" using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
4. In the next step choose "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm the whole operation.
5. After that select option "reboot system now".
The hard reset has now been performed.
