Hi!

  1. Turn off your Kobo by holding the power button (on the top of your Kobo ) for 10 seconds.
  2. Press and hold the volume up button (labeled with a + sign) on the left-hand side of your Kobo . Do not let go.
  3. While holding the volume up button, press and release the power button on your Kobo .
  4. Continue holding the volume up button until you see “Resetting your Kobo eReader” on your Kobo screen.
  5. Release the volume up button.
  6. Wait for your Kobo to restart. The Welcome screen will appear after your Kobo restarts. This can take up to one minute.

If those steps are not working then your tablet has hardware failure and needs to be replaced. Since it is only 7 months old, it is under warranty and can be replaced by Kobo.
