Customer Question

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and it was stuck on the opening screen. I tried to turn it off, but it would go back to the opening screen. I pressed the power and volume up buttons and it was stuck in Odin mode. I turned it off and it messed the screen up more. I hooked it up to my laptop and the screen went blank and it turned off. What do I do?

Hi Jannie,

You will need to try a full factory reset.

If possible, back up all of your data first if you haven't already done so.

Let me know if that works?

How do I do a full factory reset?
Expert:  ITPeter replied 8 months ago.

Press and hold the Volume down, Volume up and Power buttons until the Samsung logo appears on the screen. Scroll to wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume down button. Scroll to Yes -- delete all user data by pressing the Volume down button. The tablet will reset and wipe all contents.

I tried to do that, but the screen is black and white static. When I held the power button and the volume buttons, the screen stayed in black and white static.

Ok, so you cannot get any Samsung logo at all on the tablet?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
No, not at all.
Expert:  ITPeter replied 8 months ago.

Ok, then unfortunately the tablet is bricked, and will need to be returned to a Samsung service center fore any possibility of recovery.

Okay. Well my aunt took my tablet to Office Depot and the man there couldn't get it to turn on. Does that mean it's done for?
Expert:  ITPeter replied 8 months ago.

Yes, unfortunately that means it is beyond repair.
