Hi there and welcome

Can you tell me please what happens when you try to get the phone to connect to the Bluetooth?

Please let me know.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It will not connect or load contacts. I am using the correct pairing procedure. The techs at the BMW dealership were also not able to get the phone paired.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

What is the exact error you received when it fails to connect?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The screen on the BMW just says it can't connect, please try again. Note that I was able to connect this phone to my Jeep Grand Cherokee quickly and without a problem. Also, the BMW techs were able to pair four of their personal phones to the BMW.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The phone has Android verson 5.1.1. The Bluetooth address is 34:FC:EF:33:23:13

Thanks,

this can be a compatability issue but we will rule everything out first.

Can you go to Settings, Applications, then swipe to the list ALL

Locate Bluetooth and press it and press Clear Data.

then locate Google Services Framework and press it and press Clear Data.

Then restart the phone and tell me if it then connects please.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The only thing I find on Settings with respec to Applications is Application Manager
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

ok, it can change per firmware but that is it, Applications Manager

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Make that respect.....

Nothing in the list titled Bluetooth.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

you need to swipe to the list ALL and you will see it.

Your looking at the download list now

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
All I see is a list. There is no All.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

Yes, you need to swipe from right to left with your finger to change lists.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK, figured that out, restarting and then I will try to connect.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

thanks

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Still will not pair.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

ok, we will have to reset the pone to confirm if the firmware is the issue or it is just not compatible.

This will remove all data and return it to new, but we cannot avoid this as we have to do the reset so backup anything you need first please

Then go to Settings, Backup and Reset and choose Factory Reset.

Let this complete and when it has, setup the phone again and tell me if it will now connect please.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am not comfortable with that-I don't know how to backup the data.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

ok, we have to do this step.

What data do you need to back up?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Phone numbers, contacts, messages, pictures, apps.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.

download Super backup from the app store and run this and do a backup of your contacts and messages to the SD card.

For pictures, download the app Dropbox and you can then synch your photos online with this.

For apps, you cannot back up these, you can install then once you have reset your phone.
