I have a Kindle Fire 1st Generation and all of a sudden around

Customer Question

I have a Kindle Fire 1st Generation and all of a sudden around 3 weeks ago I cannot connect to the internet. I can connect to the Wi-Fi, but not the internet. I get a connection with a white x in the bottom right of the Wi-Fi icon.
I have tried EVERYTHING I see on the internet to try. I even called the Kindle Fire support and they could not get it to work either.
HELP!

I just checked my account and saw that I paid the $5.00 to get started. And now there is another $19 to make a total of $24. What did I get for my $24 so far? Nothing. I will add another $10 to make a total of $34 but that is it!

I want to see if its an app issue, cache or actual network problem.
So if you go to the store what error do you get?
And if you open the web browser and try to go to a web page what error do you get?

OK - I went to the Web part of the Kindle. Clicked on the Amazon.com icon and it just spins and spins - no error yet

my internet cable is connected to my internet provider modem - then an ethernet cable from modem to the internet slot in the router. Then ethernet cables from my desktop PC to the back of the router.

ok, when you do this you will lose internet so you will need to set up the wireless router again like when you first received it as well as the wireless network.
Make sure your computer is connected via a cable
Then hold the reset button in for 10 seconds, then release.
Wait 5 minutes then setup the wireless router again and connect the Kindle to it.
Then test for internet

Run the setup to setup your wireless network, like you did when you first received the router.
