My Asus tablet won't charge. I bought it like last month. I tried to reboot it and soft reset it but nothing work. I already update my system firmware. Nothing seems to work.

HandyAndy77 :

hey there. I'm Andrew and I'm like to try to help

HandyAndy77 :

what model of asus tablet is it exactly?

Customer:

It's an Asus TF300T

HandyAndy77 :

and you charged it find a few times and now it won't charge?

Customer:

Most of the time I leave it plug in and I didnt notice if it's charging or not

Customer:

until lastnight I was looking at the battery and it's down to 23% and it's not charging

HandyAndy77 :

do you ahve it plugged into a wall outlet or a computers usb port?

Customer:

I switched with different plug, even computer USB

Customer:

everytime i plug in the computer USB. It said, connected as media device

Customer:

but it never charged

HandyAndy77 :

alright, give me a moment to see if i can figure this out

Customer:

alright

HandyAndy77 :

were u using the same cable for all of those tests?

Customer:

yes. this is the only cable that come with the tablet

HandyAndy77 :

where did u purchase this from?

Customer:

Bestbuy

Customer:

I dont think it's the cable's problem because when I plugged it into USB port, the computer recognized it.

HandyAndy77 :

ya true

HandyAndy77 :

was just thinking that, hmmm, this si strange

Customer:

That's what I was thinking too. Lol

HandyAndy77 :

do u have it in the dock while charging it

Customer:

ah, i dont think so. Most of the time, I just left it on my bed while it's

charging

HandyAndy77 :

just found this on a forum, interesting to know

HandyAndy77 :

Asus Wall Port

(15 VDC @ 1.2 Amps): Charge rate of ~35% per hour with screen off. Will charge with the screen on and indicate charging.
Typical USB Port (5 VDC @ 0.5 Amps): Charge rate of ~3% per hour with screen off. Will NOT charge with the screen on. Will NOT indicate it is charging.
iPad Wall Wart (5 VDC @ 2.0 Amps): Charge rate of ~10% per hour with screen off. Will NOT charge with the screen on. Will NOT indicate it is charging.

HandyAndy77 :

seems it won't say its charging unless u use the wall adapter that came with it, but i'm assuming u've fiddled with that already

Customer:

Ummm I have a phone charger that has a USB port

Customer:

so i plugged my tabblet charger in there to test it out

Customer:

Customer:

since it's the only Asus cable I have in the house

Customer:

If somehow it's charging but it's not indicate that it's charging. Then how would I know if it's charging or not? lol

HandyAndy77 :

ya exctly....

HandyAndy77 :

did the tablet come with a wall adapter?

Customer:

yes. it does

HandyAndy77 :

and you plugged that into a known working plug and still not showing charging?

Customer:

now that we talk about it, I dont think I been using that wall plug as a charger

Customer:

cuz i was thinking that i have my phone charger with USB port

HandyAndy77 :

maybe try that one more time and see, maybe try charging thru

Customer:

one sec

HandyAndy77 :

ya, sounds like you HAVE TO use their wall charger

Customer:

ummmmm it works now <,<

HandyAndy77 :

cause its a higher voltage charger, thats what i found in that forum

HandyAndy77 :

well there you go

Customer:

lol. thanks alot. I felt stupid for a sec

Customer:

HandyAndy77 :
