Please try a hard reset: Press and hold the Power/Lock/Reset for 10 to 15 seconds. The device will enumerate with different boot optionsUse the Volume Down button to scroll and the Volume Up button to select.Select 'Recovery'The phone will start up with the Motorola logo and power up to a little Android man logo with an exclamation mark.Press the Volume Up button and Volume Down button together at this screen. The device will display blue text on a black background.Use the Volume Down button to scroll down and the Power button to select.Select 'Wipe Data'/'Factory Reset' and press the Power key to confirm the selection.Use the Volume Down button again to select 'Yes' - delete all user data - and press the Volume Down button again to confirmThe device will then start performing the Factory Data ResetOnce the formatting is complete , press the Power button to confirm a rebootThe message 'Rebooting' will be displayThe device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence
It did not work....
Apologies for that, try this:
1. With the Galaxy Note powered off, press and hold the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons.
2. When you see the Samsung logo appear, release the Power button, but continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down.
3. Release all buttons when the System Recovery screen appears.
3. Toggle the selection to highlight wipe data / factory reset using the Volume Down button.
4. Press the Home button to choose the selection.
No it did not work.. I held down the volume up and volume down button together with the power button,,,,,,it started with the flash and samsung logo came up. As suggested I released the power button and continued to hold the volume up and volume down button, no recovery screen came up. the phone continued to be stuck at the samsung logo (unfinished flash) for ever until I removed the baterries.
