I am wondering what the scoop is on the Droid overheating...My impression is that it doesn't happen to all and phone replacement is the cure. Can you give me some details on what you know. BTW, it would be nice if you answered question were searchable... Thank you
Hi there, and welcome to JustAnswer, I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible. No, it does not happen to all.An overheating phone is usually the result of a faulting battery. You would also notice that the charge is not keeping as long.I would definitely have it replaced ASAP. There is the potential of serious injury if the battery is indeed faulting. If the battery is not the cause, it can be the phone itself that is faulting. The processor may not be functioning correctly causing it to overheat. This is very rare, and nearly always it is the battery. Please do not continue to use the phone, but have it replaced under warranty. This is not normal behavior for the Droid. If you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to let me know.
