RichieMe :

If you do the following, are you able to play your music?

RichieMe :

  1. From a Home screen, touch Media Center > Music & Tones > My Music.

  2. Touch a category from the displayed list:

  • All Songs

  • Playlists

  • Artists

  • Genres

  • Albums

  • Manage My Music

  • Music Only Mode

RichieMe :

IF not, do the following please

RichieMe :

  1. From a Home screen, touch Media Center > Music & Tones > My Music.

  2. Touch Manage My Music > Move to Card.

  3. Touch Mark All to move all music to the card, or touch the checkbox next to each music file to move, then touch Done.

Customer:

When I touch My Music, I get this message:

Customer:

No Memory available. Remove files.

RichieMe :

ok, then you need to properly format the card

Customer:

When I touch My Music, I get this message:

RichieMe :

Go to settings> memory> phone card> format

RichieMe :

And format the SD Card (which will remove all data)

RichieMe :

then copy music onto it from the PC and try to play it please

Customer:

Are you reading what I'm typing?

Customer:

OK. We will now try to copy the music.

RichieMe :

yes I am

RichieMe :

thats why I gave this solution, based on what you said

Customer:

Sorry, we aren't used to doing this. We're having trouble getting the computer to recognize the phone is there.

RichieMe :

no problem

RichieMe :

can I assist with getting it connected?

Customer:

We got it connected just now. We had to touch something that said USB Mass Storage.

RichieMe :

correct

RichieMe :

this loads the phone as a disk drive

Customer:

We're still having trouble. The Windows Media page says "connect a device." Can you help?

RichieMe :

ok, the easiest is to copy the MP3 files direct to the phone

RichieMe :

Click start, computer

RichieMe :

you will see removable device listed under computer

RichieMe :

this is the phone

Customer:

Yes. We're there.

RichieMe :

You can copy and paste an MP3 (it only plays MP3's) to a directory on the phone

Customer:

I don't know what you mean. Please say more.

RichieMe :

ok, you know where an MP3 file is on your computer (one of your music files)?

Customer:

Something is happening with the Windows Media. It says its synchronizing. We have just now tried to sync the song list. But we got a message on the computer that said, "Won't fit on the phone." We only had 14 songs, and we have a 4GB memory disk.

RichieMe :

ok, first, are these MP3 files?

Customer:

I don't know. How do you tell?

RichieMe :

you need to locate the file on Start, Computer

RichieMe :

Check in My Music

RichieMe :

right click on the file and select properties

Customer:

start, computer, then what?

RichieMe :

you will then see the type of file it is

Customer:

I'm sorry. I don't understand. I thought you meant start, my computer, E: drive (which is the phone). Do you mean something else?

RichieMe :

yes, Start, Computer and then go to where your music is stored on your computer. Usually this is under My Music

RichieMe :

but only you will know that as you copied the music to your computer

Customer:

All I see is WMA.

RichieMe :

ok, this is the problem

RichieMe :

these are Windows Media Songs

RichieMe :

your phone will only play MP3's

RichieMe :

but there is a solution

RichieMe :

1 min

RichieMe :

Download and install this free program

RichieMe :

Then convert 1 WMA file to MP3

RichieMe :

copy this file to the E drive

RichieMe :

disconnect the phone and try to play it

RichieMe :

I will stand by to assist

Customer:

Help! I clicked on download. I saw the message "done". But now I dont' know where it is .

RichieMe :

click start, computer

RichieMe :

then look in the folder downloads please

Customer:

start, computer, then what?

RichieMe :

then a folder called Downloads

RichieMe :

or download again and pay attention please to where it is going

Customer:

I see the message "an error has occurred in downloading."

RichieMe :

ok.... try to download it again please

RichieMe :

Customer:

I get the message HTTP 404 not found

RichieMe :

ok, then you can convert online with no need for a program here please

RichieMe :

http://media.io/

Customer:

OK. I'm making progress now. I have saved an mp3 song file to my computer, my music. Now how do I get it onto my phone?

RichieMe :

right click it and select copy

RichieMe :

Then go to E drive (from Start, Computer) and right click somewhere where you want to put it on the phone, and select Paste Please

Customer:

My E drive isn't recognizing the phone, even though the phone says "connect to the PC . . . call disabled."

RichieMe :

you sure it is e drive?

RichieMe :

and did you press Mass Storage on the phone?

Customer:

Actually, when our old computer slowly and finally popped up with the results of what's on the phone, it said G drive. I tried to move the one mp3 file to that drive, but then got the message we got before: " The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new disk and retry."

RichieMe :

have you deleted the old music off the card?

RichieMe :

it may actually be full

Customer:

We didn't delete the WMA files. Do we need to?

RichieMe :

yes please, from the phone

Customer:

I've got one mp3 song on the phone now. How do I test to see if it will play?

RichieMe :

3:03 PM

  1. From a Home screen, touch Media Center > Music & Tones > My Music.

  2. Touch a category from the displayed list:

RichieMe :

Customer:

I found the title of the song, but I can't hear it playing.

RichieMe :

turn the volume up on the side

Customer:

OK. I got the one song to play. Now, I want to make sure I can do this process again with another song.

RichieMe :

ok, ill stand by

RichieMe :

proceeding ok?

RichieMe :

Hi there

Customer:

I have a 2nd song in MP3 on my computer now. But I can't get it to copy to the phone. I try start, my computer, E: drive (which then says "Please insert a disk and retry." Then sometimes the computer will flash the possibility of a G drive or an F drive. This just happened a couple times. Once the G and F drives disappeared with nothing on them. The second time, the G drive was the good one for the phone and I was able to put the 2nd song on the phone. It is playing now successfully. I hate to keep using your time. But why is this so hard? Is it because my computer is so old and slow, or something else?

RichieMe :

I need to sign off soon, I was wondering if you had any problems the second time round?

RichieMe :

yes, if the computer is olf

RichieMe :

oild*

RichieMe :

then you are likely to get connectivity issues with it

RichieMe :

Try restarting the computer, but I would look at trying to use a more newer computer if possible

RichieMe :

trick though, if you dont have a newer computer, is when you get it connected

RichieMe :

try to copy multiple songs at once over

Customer:

copy multiple songs at once over what?

RichieMe :

over to the phone

Customer:

OK. I can try that. Thank you for your help. Shall we sign off?

RichieMe :

If you are happy with my service?

RichieMe :

Then please click Accept which will sign us off

RichieMe :

else let me know if you need any additional information please

Customer:

Yes, thank you. How much will I be charged?

RichieMe :

just the deposit you already paid

RichieMe :

not more then this

Customer:

Ok. I will click on the accept button. Thank you for your patient help.

RichieMe :

your very welcome

RichieMe :

and all the best
