When I go to phone then favourites it shows frequently diallied

Customer Question

When I go to phone then favourites it shows frequently diallied and shows two numbers. One is 07909 444228 and the other is +447909444228. Are these one and the same phone number. There are 3 text messages showing on the +44 number which arent showing in the "Messaging" chat for this number - why would this be?

RichieMe :

Hi there, and welcome to JustAnswer, I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible.

RichieMe :

Yes they are the same

RichieMe :

The + is used for international dialing and depending on the carrier can be displayed like this

RichieMe :

the other is for local dialing

RichieMe :

You should always use the + number as no matter where you are in the world, this will always work

Customer :

Thanks, but why are the 3 text messages missing from the "Messaging" chat. This is really important as its to do with the breach of a protection order. I have his number saved in contacts under a name, but when I checked the favourites there are two for his name, one with the +44 and one without the +44. Why is this and where can I retrieve the 3 missing messages. Its a Samsung Galaxy II phone

RichieMe :

ok, where you out of the country recently?

Customer :

No but he was. He flew out 19th April and returned on 25th April. All texts up to 24th do not show the +44. All on 25th and afterwards show the +44 but he was back in the UK then. I havent left the UK at all. The 3 texts on 29th April show the +44 and dont show in the "messaging" chat. All others do??

RichieMe :

ok, thats why. When he is out of the country, it will use the +44 (44 for UK) then it will keep this numbber format

RichieMe :

but it is also depending on how the carrier interprets it

Customer :

So if my phone shows his number, either with or without the +44, it is the same phone? And where are the 3 missing messages?

RichieMe :

yes it is the same phone

RichieMe :

I dont know regarding the missing messages

RichieMe :

they should be there unless they have been deleted?

RichieMe :

the number format has no bearing on the messaging program

Customer :

I dont recall ever having received them, as I would have called the police if I had. Its a Samsung Galaxy II any idea how i retrieve deleted messages? Could it be they were media messages and if so how do I view those?

RichieMe :

no, you cant undelete, but if you dont recall recieving them, then they either were not sent, or did not make it to you (depending on where he sent them from)

RichieMe :

they would not be media messages

Customer :

If they werent sent then surely they wouldnt be showing in the call received log for that number??? He was definately in the UK when they were sent as he was arrested on 25th April and they were sent 29th. He was served with the court order on 29th. Are you sure that if they show on my log as having been received on 29th from that number then they must have been sent from that phone, regardless of location? So could it be he sent 3 messages but they didnt reach my phone, and if so how comes they show in the log? Very very puzzling but very very important.

RichieMe :

ok, call recieved log is not messages

RichieMe :

this is when he called you so that does not relate or indicate that he messaged you

RichieMe :

messages only appear in the messaging app

RichieMe :

not in the call logs

Customer :

No he didnt call. They are shown in the log as text messages (the little envelope symbol - that is a text message right?). 29.04.2012 - 3 messages at 08.38, 08.36, and 08.32. All from+447909444228. Is that fairly clear evidence that the phone with that number sent me 3 text messages at those times on that date. That is all I am trying to establish. If I didnt receive the messages then that is another question - the point here is that my phone has recorded 3 messages from his device on that date at those times. Am I correct to think they must have been sent from his phone and that if the symbol is the envelope on the Samsung Galaxy then they were sent? Sorry to labour the point but its a crucial one

RichieMe :

no, its is no problem, I understand the importance of this

RichieMe :

yes, it is a text if there is an envelope next to it

RichieMe :

that is 100%

RichieMe :

why you dont have them still, I do not know, only that they have been deleted

Customer :

And messaging does show in the favourites phone app. When you go into it it gives you 4 choices - keypad, logs, contacts and favourites. So I go to favourites and phone says "no favourites" but says "frequently dialled". I see 2 entries for that number, one as XXXXXXXXXXX and the other as +447909444228. The +44 entry shows 3 texts from him on 29th April at the times already stated. So are we clear here - it means he sent 3 messages on that date at those times from number 07909 444228 ??

RichieMe :

yes, 100%

RichieMe :

any authority person will also know this

RichieMe :

+44 means to united Kindom

RichieMe :

where you are I assume?

Customer :

RichieMe :

RichieMe :

RichieMe :

RichieMe :

and I wish you all the best

Customer :

Sorry - one last question. I had two contacts saved for him on my phone. One was on the phone, the other was facebook, but I deleted him as a friend on FB and blocked in a few days before 29th. Am I right in thinking the two "profiles" saved in the phone cant be anything to do with FB because otherwise how would messages have got through after I blocked him? I have checked FB and no messages from him after the time that i blocked him which I think was 23rd April - so messages from 29th wouldnt get thru, plus they wouldnt show up a text messages right?

RichieMe :

correct on both

RichieMe :

if you blocked him, no messages

RichieMe :

and definetly none as text messages

Customer :

Thank you so much, now pressing accept. Thank you again :)

RichieMe :

anytime!
