My Samsung Captivate Glide has stopped working, the screen

My Samsung Captivate Glide has stopped working, the screen has turned green and has lines thru it. No damage. What is going on?

most likely the android system has a c orrupt file. We can try to hard resxet the device

  1. When powered off, press and hold the Volume DOWN key and then briefly press the Power key.

  2. Wait for the "Android system recovery" screen to appear and release the Volume DOWN key.

  3. Use the Volume DOWN key to navigate to "wipe data/factory reset", and press the Power key.

  4. Use the Volume DOWN key to navigate to "Yes -- delete all user data" and press the Power key

  5. With "reboot system now" highlighted press the Power key.

Can't get the phone to turn on so I can reset!

It says Samsung, then fades to black.

Yes. I've only had it 29 days. Please do not ask warranty. I am travelling and need a working phone.

 

I got it to turn on. It says 'Booting Android Recovery', but then the screen turns greenish and I can not see anything.

The procedure i would give you will involve loading a New ROM. It will also Void the Warranty from Samsung and from your carrier. I would strongly advice against it especially knowing its less than a month old.

 

If you are in a position to get to a carrier store they will most likely change it for you.
