samsung tablet is saying invalid username or password XXXXX

Resolved Question:

samsung tablet is saying invalid username or password XXXXX too many pattern attempts. How can we fix this?

Do you have a google account associate with your samsung tablet?

I have a gmail account

Did you download games and apps on this tablet?

And did you put in your gmail account?

Customer:

Maps were downloaded, my children tried too many pattern atemps for the passcode and since this it has blocked me out

Did you try to input your gmail account?

It says invalid user name and password?

Customer:

This is what the screen says - too many pattern atemps, invalid username or password, forgot you unsername or password? visit google.com/accounts/recovery.......I have tried all of this with no success

Then we have to reset the tablet back to factory settings

SVITExperts :

This will wipe out the data on your tablet

micsoSD card will be fine. Best to take it out before the reset

Hmm Im all very new to this and the computer lingo so please be patient. What and where is the micsoSD card please

Is your tablet 7 or 10 inch?

and have had a look and there are no removable cards

sorry for 10 there is no microSD slot

Then if we do factory reset your data on the tablet will be wiped out.

Nothing I cant do without

Press power button until the galaxy tab turns off.

SVITExperts :

Then press and HOLD Volume up button. Press and release Power button.

SVITExperts :

Keep holding the Volume up button until you see the options

SVITExperts :

Select Factory data reset option.

SVITExperts :

sorry about this, when i held power button down it gave me three options one being power off shall I push this

how long should i be holding the volume button for as nothing is happening
