Connect the HTC Evo to your Mac with the USB Cable. Put your phone to mass storage mode. Open iPhoto application from Applications folder. iPhoto will allow you to download the photos. Let me know if that didn't worked. Only click Accept after we solved the problem.

Where do I find mass storage mode?

When you connect doesn't your phone asks to put to mass storage mode ? If not, goto Settings, connectibity and you can change it there

DEFAULT CONNECTION TYPE this has 4 sub settings, Charge only, HTC sync, Disk drive andUSB tethering.

The other is ASK ME, which asked me about USB connection type whenever I connect my phone to a PC
