Hi and thanks for using JustAnswer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will do whatever I can to help answer your questions.
Unfortunately you will have to perform a factory reset of the device.
As long as you have a Google account synced to your device, your contacts, calendar, etc. will be re-synced to the device after you run the initial setup again as long as you sign in with the same account. As far as any data that is stored on the SD Card(images, music, etc.), it will not be erased. Only the phones internal memory is formatted.

The answers says, "If no response, remove and replace the battery."
How do I remove the battery? The back of the phone appears to be one solid piece? And when you say replace the battery, do you mean to put the same battery back into the phone, or "replace" the battery with a new battery?
Yes, use the same battery .
At the top of the phone, the back cover has a little slot big enough for a fingernail. You start prying the cover off from there. It snaps on rather than slides so just keep gently prying.
Well, I cant recommend a good manicurist lol, but I am super happy that the phone is working again!
If you ever need anything (trust me there is a lot you can learn about what you can do with an Android!) you can get me directly at HelpWithAndroid.com.
Have a great day, and go get your nails done!
