I have a 1971 John Deere gasoline tractor that will not start? It has compression of 120PSI, spark and there is unburn fuel in the number one cylinder.

John Deere 1020, three cylinder, firing order is 1,2,3 with the number one cylinder being closes to the front of the tractor motor. 1971

If you remove # 1 spark plug and the distributor cap, leaving rotor, crank engine and watch rotor position when the # 1 cylinder blows compression, is the rotor at the # 1 position on the cap?
