My Deere 5400 tractor is burning a quart of oil every 3-4 hours. The hose below tractor smokes a lot when idling. There is no sign of leakage when not running. Tractor only has 1200 hours

Oil consumption on this tractor can come from two sources, the cylinders, from ring wear, caused by dirt in the intake to the cylinders, or a leaking turbocharger seal, letting oil go into the cylinders. Have you removed the turbo outlet hose ,to the intake, looking for evidence of oil in the hose from turbo?
