Customer Question

I have am 684 international farm tractor. The lift hung in the up position and I had a mechanic work on it and now the lift will only raise about 5 inches. I put a pressure gage on the remote and have 900 pounds.

Will the lift hold it's position? Or does it leak down as soon as lever is released? Pressure is adequate.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
it holds it's position but will only raise about 4 inches
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I think the pressure should be about 1800 according to my book
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
What do I do to fix it
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 5 months ago.

That would be set pressure, but it takes very little pressure to raise the arms without load, and they should hold position. Is this 4-5 inches with no load? If it is with load, then the pump would be suspect.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It will raise the same height with or without load
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
The pump appears to be working good

pump is not keeping the arms from lifting. What did the mechanic do? Does the engine load up? The cylinder in the three point is ok, if it holds the load. So it has to be the valve cutting off the flow to the cylinder.

Which valve
