Had to replace gears in the transmission on my John Deere gator.. But still when I shift into forward or reverse if you don't got very slow it grinds? What can be the problem? Maybe need new belt?

Is your engine idle to high may be the problem with the grinding gears. As far as model and year should be a plate under the dash or under the seat it want tell you year but it will tell you model and serial number I can tell you the year from the serial number and model number.
