Customer Question

I have a Ford 555. It will not go forward or backwards. That is the way I bought it. I did get it to go back and forth for a day then it stopped again. I did a pressure test and that was normal. The transmission hydraulic fluid was black when I drained it. I refilled it with new and changed the filter. Today I put in 2 cans of SeaFoam transmission cleaner and ran it through the gears for about an hour. Nothing

You have the power shift transmission with the shuttle shift on the torque convertor housing?

Manual shift is moving the shuttle f/r shaft # *****?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

the 58 and 59 are valves that have to shift, for the transmission to shift f/r.

Backhoe has a dump valve that kicks transmission into neutral when the declutch control is used. This dump valve , part of 31 could be stuck in open position and oil is not going to the f/r clutch.
