Typical system will have power steering pump , a power steering control valve, and power steering cylinder or cylinders.

Locate the hoses to the power steering cylinders, and see if there is oil getting to the cylinder when you turn the steering wheel.

When you turn the steering wheel in one direction, one of the hoses to cylinder will be pressure, remove the opposite hose on the cylinder. Then pressure the system and if oil comes out the open hole, the cylinder is leaking internally. If it is dual cylinder system and flud pours from the removed hose, the opposite cylinder is bypassing.
