Customer Question

I have a Bolens diesel tractor with a 21 hp iseki engine. I have had the solenoid replaced along with the battery cables because it would not start. I started it three times but when I went to start it again nothing not even the panel tights would work. I have 12.8 volts at tha battery ant 12.8 at the starter and 12.5 at the ignition switch but I get no panel lights or even a sound at the solenoid or starter. Has it lost its circuit somewhere or what.

Circuit for dash comes direct from the keyswitch. If you have 12 volts at key, the switch needs to be checked, it may be the problem!

Do you have voltemeter or test light to check the switch for output?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It has a new switch on it now. Like I said I get nothing to the starter or panel lights

What does voltmeter show at switch?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Voltage comes from the fused, or circuit breaker wire.

Volts at switch is 12.6.

Any voltage going to the switch wire to solenoid, when you turn key to start.

None of these answers have helped. Have had the battery checked at two different places told it has 12.8 volts and almost 600 cranking amps and starter checked again told it was okay. But now I can not get any spark across the starter with a screwdriver or wire from battery cable to starter. It has new battery cables, new ignition switch, new solenoid and new fuses in fuse box.

Check the ground from battery to frame!

Take jumper cables direct from battery to starter and test.
