I just bought a used ford 1310 tractor with a 770b front end

Customer Question

I just bought a used ford 1310 tractor with a 770b front end loader-- When I try to raise the loader, it raises, but is slow, but the bucket will not tilt and I cant seem to figure out how to lower it - it will only lower when the key is off -- what could
cause this and how would I fix it

The loader has four hoses for the cylinders. The valve body has two spools. one for bucket and one for boom.

The two bucket hoses have to go on the same spool. Check the two hoses and be sure the hoses are on the correct spool. Also unplug the quick connects and re-attach them. Don't go by how they look, if the coupler is not fully seated , the function will not move.

Do the same with the boom hoses.

when you raise the boom, will it hold it's position? If not, you have a cylinder leaking internally.

it does hold the position-- but the bucket wont tilt--and it takes quite awhile to raise the boom

Start with checking the quick couplers, and as I said, don't go by how they look!

ok thank you ! Will check the couplers and spools first
