Did you remove the fuel solenoid and bench test?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

If you have fuel to the injection pump and the fuel solenoid is opening, the fuel pump has failed and is stuck in no fuel position.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are there any special tools needed to remove pump? Can you get a break down of pump and removal procedure?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

I do not have it! Should require no special tools. You are convinced the injection pump is bad?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yeah I removed the fuel shutoff solenoid and it opens and closes. Fuel supply is good, what else could it be? Does engine need to be set to Tdc #1 or is this a keyed shaft on the pump?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Always set engine at TDC. ANd mark everything with punch marks, so you can put it back in same position!

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Newer pumps are not keyed, older ones are.
