Customer Question

on a john Deere 460 model with 4x4 and front loader....this is what happens:
1) I can be operating the tractor for hours continuously
2) I turn the engine off
3) when I return to start the engine....nothing!
4) I turn the ignition key several times and the engine cranks, but does not start
5) I put on the brakes and I take off the brakes.....I put all gears in neutral and put them in gear.....I bounce the seat up and down on the safety button on the bottom of the seat and nothing!
6) after doing this awhile I quit and do something else.
7) then after some time has gone by....I just walk by the tractor and without seating on the seat I put the key in and turn the ignition and bam! it starts.
Q. why doesn't it start (step 3) and later (step 7) it starts

Model 460 is what? Does not show as good model.??? 4600 compact tractor?

With 4600, I would be checking the battery cable connections, to the starter solenoid and negative cable to the ground connection. When engine is turning, and does not start, the fuel solenoid at the injection pump has no voltage.
